Walking through the narrow streets of Hoi An with its small houses, shops, find a place to buy souvenirs, silk shirts and ceramic works. Hoi An is located south of Da Nang and is recognised by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.
Formerly known as Faifo, Hoi An was an international port during the XVI and XVII. The port commerce has moved to Da Nang, but economic activity has been replaced by a series of houses that serve as shops, much like Chinese.
The centre of Hoi An is small and designed for walking on foot, so most of the time you move on foot. The motorcycle use is prohibited in the centre at certain times of day, but during the rest of the time allowed. During 14 and 15 of the lunar month the government prohibits the use of these vehicles due to high activity, such as traditional games that are held in the village.
